Last weekend, I had a wonderful trip wit my best friend in Berkeley, Nao. This might be the last trip we have in America since he is going back to japan in few weeks. Wish you the best Nao!
We started this trip on 1/18 Friday night and our first stop is Phoenix. On 1/19, we went to our destination Saguaro NP. It is famous because of the huge cactus called Sagruaro.
The Saguaro NP is separate into two parts by Tucson city and we went to east side of the park in the moring. There are 4 trails herer, but I think the view is pretty much the same. Nao and I walked two short trals (30-60 minutes each) only. The overview of the trail is like the photos below. But except for Saguaro, you can see colorful cactus too like the purple one and the yellow one.
We tried to find huge Saguaro and also some Saguaro with interesting shapes.
During the trip, we saw this kind of senery all the way.
The sigh below showed the reason why there are holes on cactus. The birds make holes on it and live inside as a home.
The second trail we walked actually is not really a trail. It's just walking along a big rock
In the late afternoon, we went to the west side of Saguaro NP which is much better than the east side... There are much more huge cactuses in the west side, and also the color of the ground make the senery looks more like a desert.
In the visitor center, I bought a National Park passport to record all national parks I have been to. Unfortunatly, I might not be able to get all NP official cancellation because I have no chance to go Lassen NP and Carlsbad NP again... (maybe)
Just like the decision we made on the east side, we walked two trails on west side as well. We want to kill some time before the sunset so we choose two 30 minutes trails to look around. The second trail provieded us a very good spot to enjoy the amazing view of this park. Millions of cactuses under our feets .
PS: Nao got hurt by kicking on the cactus below... so stupid!! HAHA~
At around 5:30, the sun started to go down an we tried to find a good place to enjoy the view. We followed the recommendation given by guide in visitor center, but it semms like Nao was not satisfy with the view because he expected to see more cactuses~
PS: The photo below on the righthand side is one of my favoriate pictures in this trip, but Nao said it was fake because we didn't "really" see this senery... HAHA
Photo for Phoenix!!!
Our Saguaro NP trip ended after the sun disappeared. After two one and half hours driving, we arrived Tuscan city to get prepare for tomorrow~
